If you have decided to opt for a pellet stove to heat your home maybe you have asked yourself if you made the right decision particularly regarding the cost of pellet. Well although prices are rising, pellet can consent more important savings on heating. Purchasing special stoves and boilers in fact offers different types of incentives, first of all a 50% deduction with the Irpef deduction (10 instalments of equal quantity for 10 years). Then there is the thermic account, a variable contribution based on the climatic zone and power installed, paid in two years , although, only for substitution of appliances already installed: wood stoves or old pellet stoves and, for the boilers, biomass boilers or oil-fired and, only for farms, GPL.
The price of pellet has seasonal variations: generally lower in the period from May to July, and more towards August and stabilizes during winter. At this moment, a 15 kg. bag costs between 4,80 and 5,50 euro, significantly more expensive compared to the same period in 2012: on average between 3,60 and 4 Euros a bag. To give a temporary indication (independently from the room size, stove power, internal and external temperature) with one kg.of pellet approx. one hour of heating is obtained. We can say that, calculating several hours with the stove OFF, one 15 kg. bag may last two days.
